Inspiration for House Sign
Where do you find inspiration for a handmade house sign? Here are some suggestions:-
Use a photo of your pet, past or present or a picture of your favourite animal.
This is a unusual one, use a picture of your actual house.
Your favourite feature in your garden, this could be a particular plant, tree or shrub. It could also be other things such as a rockery, water feature or bird table. Many people use birds, or another type of animal as the picture on a house sign. The most popular house sign though is one of a picture of the owners pet, usually a dog. If you are thinking about having a house sign designed and made, don’t just have a picture because you think that a house sign should have a picture on it (it doesn’t). If you like you could just have the name or number of your house nicely designed on the plaque so it stands out on its own. Another idea is land marks for example Stone Henge, the Tower of London or a Lighthouse. You may wish to use your favourite vehicle a friend of mine is an avid train fan and would love a house sign with a steam engine on it. You may prefer your favourite car, boat or even plane. You may have quite a sense of humour and your house sign is a great way of welcoming your guests with a funny pun. It is after all your house and your house sign to have as you wish.
